Quantity of cement = (Dry volume of concrete x cement ratio)/(sum of the ratio’s of cement, sand & aggregates)

Assume, Volume of concrete = 1 m³

Wet volume of concrete = 1 m³

Dry volume = Wet volume x 1.54 

Dry volume of concrete = 1 x 1.54 =1.54 m³

M25

Grade of concrete M25 — 1:1:2 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+1+2) = 0.385 m³

Density of cement = 1440 kg/m³

One bag of cement = 50 kg

No. of bags in 1 m³ = 1440/50 = 28.8 no’s

No. of bags = 0.385 x 28.8 = 11.088 no’s

M20

Grade of concrete M20  — 1:1.5:3 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+1.5+3) = 0.28 m³

No. of bags = 0.28 x 28.8 = 8.064 no’s

M15

Grade of concrete M15  — 1:2:4 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+2+4) = 0.257 m³

No. of bags = 0.257 x 28.8 = 7.392 no’s

M10

Grade of concrete M10  — 1:3:6 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+3+6) = 0.154 m³

No. of bags = 0.154 x 28.8 = 4.435 no’s

M7.5

Grade of concrete M7.5  — 1:4:8 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+4+8) = 0.119 m³

No. of bags = 0.119 x 28.8 = 3.412 no’s

M5

Grade of concrete M5  — 1:5:10 (Cement: Sand: Aggregates)

Quantity of cement =( 1.54 x 1)/(1+5+10) = 0.0963 m³

No. of bags = 0.0963 x 28.8 = 2.2772 no’s
