Weight of steel = 0.007 x 7850 =

**Maximum percentage of steel =1.0%

∴Quantity of steel = (1.0/100) x 1 = 0.01 m³

Weight of steel = 0.01 x 7850 =

**78.5 kg /m³**

So, lets take an example

Here, Area of slab= 5.4 x 4.40 = 23.76 m^2

Assume thickness of slab = 120 mm = 0.12 m

∴ Volume of slab = 23.76 x 0.12 = 2.8512 m³

*Let’s takes % age of steel as 1%*

**∴ QUANTITY OF STEEL REQUIRED FOR SLAB = **2**.**8512 m³ x 78.5 kg /m³ **=223.82 Kg**
