In order to calculate the required quantity of Cement, Sand, Coarse Aggregates and water for M10 grade of concrete we have to follow 6 simple steps.

**1. Assumptions**

Volume of concrete = 1 m³

Grade of concrete **M10** (1:3:6)

**2. Find-out the Quantity of concrete (****Wet volume & Dry volume)**

Wet volume of concrete = 1 m³

Here, wet volume is nothing but Volume of the concrete after mixing with water.

** ∵ Dry volume = Wet volume x 1.54 **(You can also take it as 1.50 to 1.55, But it became standard practice to considering 1.54 as multiplication factor).

Dry volume of concrete = 1 x 1.54 =1.54 m³

**3. Find-out quantity of Cement**

**∵ **Quantity of cement = (Dry volume of concrete x cement ratio)/(sum of the ratio)

Cement = (1.54 x 1)/(1+3+6)=**0.154 m³**

**∵ Density of Cement = 1440 kg/m³**

Weight of Cement = 1440 x 0.154 = **221.76 Kg**

**∵ 1 bag of cement contains 50 kg of cement**

Number of bags = 221.76** **Kg/50 kg = 4.435 ≅** 5 No’s**

**4. Find-out quantity of Sand**

∵ Cement : Sand :: 1:3

**Quantity of sand =Quantity of cement x 3**

∴ Quantity of Sand = 0.154 x 3 =** 0.462 m³**

**∵ 1m³=35.3147 Cubic Feet (CFT)**

Quantity of sand = 0.462 x 35.3147 =** 16.315 CFT**

**∵ **Weight of sand = volume x density, Density of Sand = 1600 kg/m^3

∴ Weight of sand= 0.462 x 1600= ** 739.2 kg (0.739**** tonnes)**

**5. Find-out quantity of Coarse Aggregates**

∵ Cement : Coarse Aggregates :: 1:6

**Quantity of sand =Quantity of cement x 6**

∴ Quantity of Coarse Aggregates = 0.154 x 6 =** 0.924 m³**

**∵ 1m³=35.3147 Cubic Feet (CFT)**

Quantity of Coarse Aggregates = 0.924 x 35.3147 = **32.630 CFT**

**∵ ****Weight of Coarse Aggregates = volume x density,** **Density of Coarse Aggregates = 1520 kg/m^3 **

∴ Weight of Coarse Aggregates = 0.924 x 1520 = ** 1404.48 kg (1.404**** tonnes)**

**6.Find-out quantity of water**

Assume *water cement ratio as 0.50*

Quantity of water = 221.76 x 0.50 = **443.52 Liters**
