**M10 GRADE & M15 GRADE of concrete is used as PCC (Plain Cement Concrete)**

So, let’s see how can we calculate the quantity of cement for both (M10 & M15) grades of concrete

**CALCULATION OF CEMENT QUANTITY IN M 10**

To calculate it you must know the following 2 things,

**1.Mix proportion of concrete **

Mix ratio of M 10 = 1:3:6 (cement:sand:aggregate)

**2. Formula’s**

**Dry volume = Wet volume x 1.54**(You can also take it as 1.50 to 1.55, But it became standard practice to considering 1.54 as multiplication factor).

Here, wet volume is nothing but Volume of the concrete after mixing with water.

**Quantity of cement or sand or aggregate = (Dry volume x cement or sand or aggregate ratio)/(sum of ratio)****Density of cement =****1440 kg/m³****1 bag = 50 kg cement**

So,

Dry volume = 1 x 1.54 = 1.54 m³

Quantity of Cement = (1.54 x 1) /(1+3+6) = 1.54/10 = **0.154 m³**

Weight of cement = 0.154 m³ x 1440 kg/m³ =**221.76 kg**

No. of bag = 221.76 kg / 50 kg = **4.4352 bags**

Cement volume in CFT= 0.154 m³x 35.3147 = 5.4384 CFT

**CALCULATION OF ****CEMENT QUANTITY IN M 15**

**1.Mix proportion of concrete **

Mix ratio of M 15 = 1:2:4 (cement:sand:aggregate)

**2. Formula’s**

**Dry volume= wet volume x 1.54**

**cement = (dry volume of concrete x proportion of cement)/ (sum of proportion)**

so,

Dry volume= wet volume x 1.54 = 1 x 1.54 = 1.54 m³

Quantity of Cement = (1.54 x 1)/(1+2+4) =**0.22 m³**

Weight of cement = 0.22*1440= **316.8 kg**

No. of bag = 316.8 kg/50 kg=** 7 bags**

Cement volume in CFT=0.22 m³x 35.3147 =**7.7692 CFT**
